Scheme of Delegation
The Scheme of Delegation defines the framework of responsibility and accountability across our Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), outlining where specific decision-making authorities reside within our organisational structure. This document is crucial for clarifying the roles and powers held by each level of governance and management, ensuring a cohesive approach to school leadership and operations.
Within this scheme, responsibilities are clearly delineated amongst key entities, including the Board of Trustees, Local Governing Bodies (LGBs), Headteachers, and central staff. For instance, it specifies whether strategic decisions fall under the purview of the Board of Trustees, operational oversight remains with the LGBs, or day-to-day management responsibilities rest with Headteachers or central administrative teams. By articulating these distinctions, the Scheme of Delegation ensures that decision-making aligns with the MAT’s mission, supports effective governance, and promotes accountability throughout the organisation.
This structured approach not only enhances transparency but also facilitates streamlined communication and collaboration across our schools, empowering leaders at each level to fulfil their roles with clarity and confidence.
